RE: Home built genturi (Update, parts list)

I Have to admit Your suction Cup Mount is the Best I have seen! On My version the top section of Pipe has an attachment point that Hooks over the Roof Rack. It Works fine on My MH but wouldn't fit many others. I Will be buying one of those, Looks like a Glass Installers Tool! http://s196.photobucket.com/albums/aa276/robslake/Genturi/

RE: Spare Tire Bike Rack for 2000 Honda CRV

Have You considered having one "Custom Built" ? Perhaps an Offset Mount could be Bolted in place to the Spare. Putting the Cover on might be a pain however!

RE: Oatmeal Strikes Back

Back in the Olden Days , We used Oatmeal as an Emergency Radiator Repair! It Worked really Well as long as the Motor was running (Pressurized) however once You shut it Down it would leak once again! A Raw Egg will also work as a Temporary "Stop Leak"! I Haven't had any reason to attempt this for Many Years, I think that the Rads back then 1940~50's were likely much more subject to leakage!

RE: Question about hot water heater drain plug with zinc anode

The surprising thing about anodes is that all it takes is One or Two Tanks of Cruddy Water and they Dissolve Quickly! We live on Lakefront Property and Near the Ocean so have anodes on Our Boats. They are usually in need of replacement every 2~3 Years but sometimes if the Lake Turns Over they seem to Melt overnight. I find that Arizona Water seems harder on them compared to Water here in BC.

RE: Battery Help

I can relate to your Concern however don't let the Voltage thing scare You. We have Six X6 Volt Batteries that take forever to Charge to 13.6 + Volts and seem to drop to 12.6 fairly quickly. However they stay at the 12.6 level running everything in the Unit quite well for Much Longer than I ever thought possible. In Fact We left the TV ,Sat Receiver and VCR running for 24 Hours recording Stuff and still were at 12.4 the Next day. Of Course We also have Solar Panels , but this was at a time when the Sun was pretty well obscured by clouds and we weren't getting much output.

RE: AE Systems Awning hardware needed

You may find that A&E will send You the Parts Gratis, if You e-mail them with a description of the problem and the model number etc. They are Very Good at this type of Customer service!

RE: Atwood Hydro flame furnace not igniting

From what You are saying the Battery is the first thing I would examine. Check the Posts and Cables for Corrosion. Clean them till they are shiny and Test the Voltage at the battery. It Should Read 12.2 or higher ( Depends on state of charge) Less than 12 Volts needs charging and possible replacement. With the Thermostat set to Heat. At the Control Board test the Voltage on both wires going to and from the Sail Switch. (It needs to read 10.5 V to 13.5 in order to work) .If You are not showing power on the return Wire either the Sail Switch is Defective (Dirty) OR there may be a restriction of Air Flow ! That should get You started on the right Path! You can download a Service Manual http://www.rvrepairmanual.com/rv_dsi_furnace.html Good Luck and Say Hi to Clark and the Family at Xmas!

RE: Spare Tire Bike Rack for 2000 Honda CRV

Although You have stated that You don't want to install a hitch ,this may be the Best choice! There are several types of hitches available for the CRV and also several nice Bike Racks!

RE: Year Round place to park a Class A-PV and points south

What We have been seeing over the past 8 or 9 Years is fewer and fewer RV parks where Permanent RV/Palapas are being permitted. A few have in fact been closed and Condos or Hotels have been built. You might be better off buying a Lot and going from there as the previous poster has suggested ,this is quite common in and around Melaque~Bara de Navidad. I agree the Melaque Parks would not be suitable anyway!

RE: Engine block heater switch.

It is doubtful that You will ever need to use it,however if You ever decide to Visit some of Canada's North Country during Christmas , You may find it useful to Plug it in ,or Turn it on ! Believe it or not those Electrical Outlets found in some Parking Lots up here are there especially for "Block Heaters" and Not for the convenience of RV ers heading to Alaska!

RE: Sagging overhead TV cabinet

I doubt that there is much of a Header or Roof Truss above the Cabinet. I Think that using Expansion Type bolts, Not the Butterfly type but the ones that are more like a pair of opposed umbrellas will work the best! Drilling through the Roof would Not be a good idea! After You get the Cabinets secured take a good look at the Other Hanging Cabinets, as they may also be starting to drop and can use the same reinforcement. You may also wish to reconsider replacing that Heavy TV Set with an LCD attached to a New "Door" covering the Old opening!

RE: Bus Conversion Sleeps 11

Lots of Buses have manual Transmissions, Yes even the Newer Ones. This Old Timer would need a Ton of work to restore it to It's original Glory, and can You imagine 11 people trying to Sit around one of those Tables for 2? It Would certainly have made a Great Band Bus or Team Bus Back a few Years though! The Ad does state it was an Insurance write Off due to Water and Hail Damage!

RE: Tiffin 07 Allegro Bus Big Slide issue

replacing a Shear Pin with something that is Harder and can't shear is the same as replacing a blown Fuse with a larger size! It May work ,but isn't going to solve the problem in the long run! Something has to be binding enough to cause the pin to shear in the first place, so look for the cause!

RE: septic tank clean out/dump access

If you can easily lift and remove the First lid why not just pump into that hole then replace the lid? You only dump once a week or so. Or as has been suggested make a "New Lid" using ready mix and Cast a 4 Inch Capped fitting in it! This You can easily hook up to. The only problem with having a permanent Dump installed in the House line by a "Pro" may cause the local Building Inspector to pay a visit! Sometimes The BI can be a SOB when it comes to such matters!

RE: Mexico

Hey Lighten up! I Told You at the Outset I wasn't trying to start a war! My First trip by Road into Mexico, was to Rocky Point and We enjoyed it , but It hardly qualifies as a Warmer Climate and doesn't have a whole lot of Mexican flavor left. As I said if that's Your thing Great! There is a lot more to enjoy a bit further down the road if You are a little more adventurous! Everyone has an opinion , I stated mine!

RE: This was just weird.....WEIRD!!!

It Seems that a lot of Unfortunate Looking People, rather than trying to Expose Their Inner Beauty and Inteligence with Humility and Sharp Wits have chosen this "Goth or Tortured Appearance" as a way to Express themselves! They Must Either have Very Low self esteem or are on some kind of drugs to do this to Their Bodies! They deserve to receive some treatment for their obvious Mental problems. I thank God every day that I and My Family Members are for the most part Normal Looking well adjusted People!
